Empty Nest coming to The Hallmark Channel?
In February 2011, SitcomsOnline.com announced that the Hallmark Channel would likely begin airing Empty Nest as part of its regular lineup in March. The show is slated to join the Hallmark lineup with a 24-hour marathon on February 26th. For the full announcement, visit SitcomsOnline.com.

Dinah Manoff revisits her Grease role as the film hits theaters again
In the summer of 2010, Empty Nest's Dinah Manoff attended the Seattle International Film Festival's showing of Grease: Sing-Along, a special theatrical re-release of the movie in which Dinah played Pink Lady Marty Maraschino.  For more on the festival's showing, check out this article which features a quote from an interview with Dinah.  And for photos from the event, check out the festival's Flickr page

Soap alum Jay Johnson discusses his guest role on Empty Nest
In addition to series regulars Richard Mulligan and Dinah Manoff, several members of the classic Susan Harris sitcom Soap turned up on Empty Nest in guest-starring roles throughout the show's run.  One of those actors, ventriloquist Jay Johnson (who played Chuck & Bob on Soap), discussed his Empty Nest appearance in a recent interview with TVSeriesFinale.com.

Dinah Manoff reunites with State of Grace costars
Dinah Manoff has recently worked once again with stars from her 2001-2002 ABC Family series State of Grace. Most recently, Dinah turned up in an episode of the online series Lose Yourself alongside Jonathan Silverman, Jennifer Elise Cox and Johanna Cross.  The series, which is available on the StrikeTV Web site, also stars Dinah's former State of Grace castmate Mae Whitman. Look for Dinah in episodes 4 and 5.  Meanwhile, the award-winning independent film Bart Got a Room arrived in stores in July 2009.  In the film, Dinah teams with her former castmates Michael Mantell and Alia Shawkat; the three once again play wife, husband and daughter. 

"Dreyfuss" trainer Joel Silverman discusses his time on the show
Animal trainer Joel Silverman, who worked with Empty Nest 's "Bear" (a.k.a. Dreyfuss) during the show's first four seasons, has released a book.  Joel recently spoke of his experience on the show in this interview.


Lionsgate obtains DVD rights to several Buena Vista television shows
Lionsgate, the leading independent filmed entertainment studio, and Disney-ABC Domestic Television have entered into an agreement where Lionsgate obtains the home entertainment distribution rights (DVD rights) to select primetime series and library titles from ABC Studios.
